Double Tenor

Invented by Marshall, the Double Tenor is a marvelously versatile instrument with 31 notes and 6" skirt, having an attractive, euphoric tonal quality that can be played within a steelband or as a solo instrument. When played in a steelband it is an octave lower than the D Lead, offers reinforcing support by doubling the melodic lines in a lower register, can play the alto harmony to the lead melody, as well as compliment the rythym of the Double Second's strumming patterns. When played alone, it can perform a rapturous melody and add a unique voice to any conventional band.
